Nails Inc The Thames

Hey guys
This polish has a lot of fans among us NailsInc-aholics.
It has the formula that you expect of this brand and is a lovely colour.
Do any of you own this beauty?
What do you think of it?

Nails Inc Kensington Palace

Hi guys
I love my magnetic polishes and this is no exception.
The thing I love about them is the fact that they look equally great whether they've been magnetised or not.
Do you guys like magnetic polishes?
Are there any of you that haven't tried them yet?
Louise

Nails Inc Chester Street

Hey guys
As you might remember I won the Nails Inc Facebook Fan of The Week a couple of weeks ago. I collected my 'prize' from the Post Office on Saturday and this was the first of my new beauties that I tried.
It's a very simple polish with a lovely pearlescent shimmer to it.
Have any of you guys tried this polish?
Louise

Nails Inc The Mall

Hey guys
Sorry for the lack of posts recently!
I have been painting my nails and uploading them to instagram but haven't actually got round to posting them here!
Anyhoo that means I'll be uploading a few pics here in quick succession probably!
This is the beauty I'm currently wearing. This is Nails Inc Kensington Caviar base coat with 2 coats of colour and one coat of Seche Vite.
Do any of you guys have this colour? Or is it on your wishlist?

Nails Inc Lowndes Square with Nails Inc Burlington Arcade Nail Jewellery

Hey guys
I've already typed this post up once but it didn't save! So enjoy the pics for now and I'll do the blurby bit again another time!
Do you guys find that Blogger on your phones plays up or have any tips to make it happen less often?

Nails Inc Bury Walk... again!

Hey guys
I know I've posted about this beauty before but I don't think I'll ever get over how pretty it is or how difficult it is to get an accurate picture of!
Anyhoo, here are my recent attempts to capture it's beauty for you to see.
I think this is definitely one you'll have to see in real life to really appreciate it's shimmery beauty.
Do any of you know any tips that I could use to get a better picture of this shy pretty?
Louise x

Layla Flash Black

Hey guys
This is a beauty I tried to blog about a few days ago but my phone decided not to play ball!
Although this is a gorgeous polish it didn't last long without chipping!
Do any of you guys know how I can make my holo pretties last longer?

Nails Inc Warwick Avenue

Hey guys
I've had a polish free day today which is a very rare occurrence!
This evening I just couldn't decide which polish to use next so thought I'd try one of my unused Nails Inc minis.
Although I've got a few lovely colours I thought I'd try Warwick Avenue which looked like quite a natural pink.
Although it's a little bit brighter than I was expecting, I love it. It's the usual formula you expect from Nails Inc, e.g. easy to apply and self levelling.
What do you guys think of this pretty? Do you have it? Is it on your wishlist? Or is it too girly for you?

Hi Guys

I've just noticed that I uploaded a picture of this vampy beauty but didn't give her any write up!  Oops!

This is a gorgeous, deep red which I love and which has a lot of depth to it.

A Cloud Mani Update

Hey guys

This has been a pretty tough few weeks for me as my uncle is poorly and we've been to hell and back especially in the past few days. He was due to go to hospital today and we were expecting bad news.  Luckily we got good news instead so fingers crossed that nothing changes between now and Monday!

Anyhoo on top of the good news about my uncle I found a post on my Facebook page from a friend I met through the Nails Inc London Facebook page calling me a winner! When I checked I found out I'd actually been awarded 'Facebook Fan Of The Week' for this very mani :-D

This surprised me because when I was thinking about applying this mani it was only meant to be a short-lived experiment to see how difficult it was to create.  Not only was it easier than I thought but I also love it a lot more than I expected too.  I'm still wearing it after applying it on Monday afternoon :-)

And on top of all that I saw a beautiful double rainbow while I was on my way home from work :-)
So what I was expecting to be a pretty crappy day actually ended up being one of the best days I've had for a while :-D

Do you guys follow the postings on Nails Inc London's Facebook page or have you been lucky enough to win something for your nail art?

Louise x

Update (30.08.12): I just wanted to give credit where it's due. If it hadn't been for this post by Nailside I probably wouldn't have thought to do this mani so I just want to thank Nailside for the inspiration :-D x

I've been nominated for 2 Liebster Awards :)

Hey Guys

I've been nominated for a Liebster Award not once but twice, by the lovely Becky of beckawoo and the very kind Philippa of glitter and jelly

Apparently "this little award is all about discovering new blogs and helping those with less than 200 followers to get recognised" and the rules to follow after being nominated are:

1. Each person tagged must post 11 things about themselves.
2. They must also answer the 11 questions the 'tagger' has set for them.
3. They must create 11 more questions to ask bloggers they have decided to tag.
4. They must then choose 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers and tag them in their post.
5. These lucky bloggers must then be told.
6. There are no tag backs.

So here I go with the 11 things about myself:

1. I live with my boyfriend and my cat Casper.  My boyfriend's 4 year old son stays with us every other weekend <3
2. I have two younger sisters and three really close girlfriends who are like sisters to me.
3. I work in a solicitors office.
4. I LOVE painting my nails and find it very relaxing after a stressful day at work (or the Hell Hole as I normally call it!)
5. I'm 32 years old but don't feel it most of the time!
6. I can't wait to have a baby.
7. My favourite colour is purple although you could probably tell that from the name of my blog huh!
8. I have a few favourite animals, including wolves, huskies, pandas, butterflies and cats - random selection right?!?
9. My favourite shape is a star although I don't know why.
10. I love reading and am a real "bookwork".
11. I also love taking photos.

My questions from Becky are:
1. What type of music do you like?
I like all kinds of music but especially soft rock like Bon Jovi & the Foo Fighters.
2. What's your favourite quote and why?
“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.” ― Marilyn Monroe - This quote means a lot to me because I've had bad relationships in the past which have made me appreciate the one I'm in now.
3. Xbox or PlayStation?
Neither, I'd rather play games on the PC!
4. What film makes you cry the most?
PS I Love You or The Time Traveller's Wife :'(
5. What's your NATURAL hair colour?
Brown
6. Where do you shop the most?
Nails Inc at the moment!!!
7. What's your day job?
Legal Secretary
8. What do you value most in life?
The people I care about
9. What's the craziest thing you've ever done?
Danced on a table when drunk!
10. What is your biggest pet peeve?
Cupboard doors being left open, even slightly really annoys me!
11. Where would you bury hidden treasure if you had some?
Hmm now that would be telling!

My questions from Philippa are:

1. Who is the one person in your life that you couldn’t live without?
I can't narrow it down to just one. I have too many people that I need in my life.
2. What is your earliest childhood memory?
Being on a bus with my dad having some time just the two of us.
3. Do you have any distinguishing marks, scars, or tattoos?
Some little scars but nothing major.
4. How did you meet your best friend?
When I first started work she already worked in the same office and took me under her wing.
5. What has changed in your life since you first started blogging?
My uncle has become poorly! :'(
6. From whom do you draw inspiration?
My gran. She's the strongest person I know <3
7. Which year of your life would you like to re-live and why?
The year I was 19. My mum and dad were still together and my granddad and aunty were still alive.
8. If you were hosting a dinner party, what would be on the menu?
Take away - I'm a rubbish cook haha
9. What is your favourite book? Tell us a little about the plot and why it means so much to you.
The Time Traveller's Wife - it's a love story across the ages.
10. Which websites do you visit daily?
Facebook!
11. If you had to throw away the rest of your makeup collection and keep only 5 items, what you keep?
Big Lash mascara, one of my green duo eyeshadow pots (I can't remember the make of it), Heather Shimmer lipstick and two Nails Inc polishes, probably Crown Court and Baker Street.

My questions for my 11 nominees are:

1. Why did you start blogging?
2. Which famous people would you invite to a dinner party (dead or alive) and why?
3. What is your favourite scene from a film?
4. Did you watch any of the Olympics. If so, which was the best bit for you?
5. What do you like to do most when you are not blogging?
6. What's the first thing you would do if you won the lottery?
7. If you could be anyone else for a day who would you be?
8. What is the last movie that you saw at the cinema?
9. Are you a morning person or a night owl?
10. What do you have that is of great value to you but of no value to anyone else?
11. How far away from your birthplace do you live now?

My nominations for this award (in no particular order) are:

Please check out these lovely blogs.
I look forward to hearing from those that I've tagged that they have replied to my questions :)

Thanks for reading this massive post!

Nails Inc Montpelier with Burlington Arcade

Hey guys
I love silver polishes and this is a beauty which was really enhanced by the nail jewellery.
What colours do you like wearing the nail jewellery polishes with?

A cloud mani

Hey guys

This is my first attempt at a 'cloud mani' and I love it.

I've used these Nails Inc polishes:
Ganton Street
Floral Street
The Thames
Black Taxi
I also used Seche Vite top coat.

What do you think of my attempt?

Update (30.08.12): I just wanted to give credit where it's due. If it hadn't been for this post by Nailside I probably wouldn't have thought to do this mani so I just want to thank Nailside for the inspiration :-D x

Nails Inc Jermyn Street

Hey guys
This is one of the colours I got in the greige collection with the stunning Black Taxi which I've posted about
This is the first time I've used this polish which was a dream to apply in two coats. I've applied three for these pics though, out of habit with Seche Vite top coat.
Jermyn Street is a lovely neutral soft brown which makes a nice change from the polishes I've been wearing recently.
Do any of you ladies have this polish?

Have any of you tried Mount Street? What did you think of it?

Nails Inc Holland Park

Hey Guys

As you may have realised from my posts I love my purple polishes! I'm definitely a purple people eater ;)

I was so excited when I heard that Nails Inc were bringing out a neon purple and ordered Holland Park as soon as I could afford to treat myself to it!

Unfortunately the original polish I got was one of the ones from the faulty batch and even after 7, yes 7 coats it was still streaky and not at all opaque. I was a very disappointed bunny! :(

Fortunately when I decided to give this polish a second chance and bought another bottle using a Debenhams gift card I'd received for my birthday, I got a much better polish - Yay!

Here are some pictures of this beauty which were taken after 2 days wear!

I removed this polish tonight and reapplied it from scratch and am even happier with the look of it second time round :D (I'll try to remember to take some pics before it gets dark tomorrow!)

What do you guys think of this beauty? Do you agree that it was worth the second chance?

Nails Inc Porchester Square & Electric Lane

China Glaze Purple Panic

As you might know I'm on a mission to find the perfect neon purple (in my opinion)

I thought this one might have been a contender but despite the name it's definitely more pink than purple and wasn't really what I was looking for!

Ciate Purple Sherbet

Ciate Purple Sherbet which came free with the July 2012 copy of Marie Claire

Nails Inc Tate

This is a gorgeous classy red and these photos were taken after 5 days of wear :) Tate

Layla Cloudy Violet Hologram Polish

Hey Guys

This is a gorgeous purple holographic which my boyfriend described as looking like I had "dipped my fingers in a rainbow" which goes some way to describe how colourful this beauty is!  Unfortunately it's a pain in the posterior to capture that effect on camera, at least for me!

If you fancy treating yourself to this little beauty or any of her pretty sisters then head on over to Simply Occasions where the lovely Bryony will be happy to assist you I'm sure :D

Lou :) x

p.s. Any tips on how to catch this effect would be gratefully received as would any other hints and tips you guys may have on how I can improve my blog/picture taking techniques! x
